Marie-Louise Flexen is a seasoned professional dance artist, performer, jazz singer and award-winning choreographer with 30 years of experience specialising in collaboration and combined arts. Known for her versatility, she seamlessly weaves dance, text, song, and theatre to deliver highly engaging performances, that appeal to broad audiences. Over her distinguished career, Marie-Louise has led numerous Arts Council England (ACE)-funded projects and independent productions. She was honoured with the Dance UK Inspiring Leader Award in 2015, named a semi finalist for the prestigious contemporary choreography award The Place Prize in 2005, and nominated for a Total Theatre Award in 2007. Since 2025 she has been  touring her ACE-funded production 'Bird Nerd & The Red List' across the UK.  In 2025 she was a selected dancer for Pushing Boundaries at Encore East, artistically led by Galit Liss for dancers over 50 years old.

Marie-Louise is also a jazz singer and vintage dancer in  The Mary Lou Revue, which secured ACE funding for two highly successful interactive tours: Bedside Cabaret and Bandstand Cabaret. Her fascination with interspecies movement led to an ACE Developing Your Creative Practice grant to pioneer choreographic performances with horses alongside equestrian Melanie Fauske.

For over 20 years, she has co-created vibrant outdoor  theatre  for families and events with Curious Company, producing crowd favourites such as Mr Wippy & the Conettes, Alice & Mr Chirrups Global Bug Safari, and the aqua-spectacle The Little Mermaid. She worked with Maria Jagusz ( MJUK )  for their production of Carmen Her commercial portfolio includes entertaining for clients and high-profile events

such as:* Luxury Brands: Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Yves Saint Laurent, and Pierre Cardin.
